Join Us at Clara Ida Frances, Winnsboro, Texas, for a community ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 26th at 10:00 a.m. The Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce is coordinating this special event and we invite all of you to celebrate the new store in its new location at Main and Elm. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
Peter Schma, the owner of Innertex Construction and a longtime Texas commercial contractor, restored the 113-year old brick building to its glory days. The building features the original tin ceiling; marble tiled entry, and the prismatic transom windows. After years of neglect and water damage, the building’s pier and beam foundation was replaced with concrete and stained with a warm amber finish. The new storefront windows and exterior cornice compliment the beautiful brick façade that was discovered hidden under previous layers of exterior siding.
Peter is the husband of Janice Schma, the owner of Clara Ida Frances. Together they have lovingly and painstakingly transformed this historic building into a central beacon for the growing downtown corridor. The city of Winnsboro and its determined merchants are creating a modern day renaissance for the historic and cultural arts district. Clara Ida Frances is proud to be a vital part of this Main Street hub.
