Feed Lot opens in Winnsboro

A new idea of grouping food trucks from the Winnsboro area has come to fruition by owners Leslie Anders and Becky Baxter. They found a central location and invited other food truck owners to join them. To make the experience inviting they created a courtyard effect with tables, umbrellas, lighting and fresh flowers. Currently there are three food trucks. They include Claudia’s Cravings, The Caboose and Tropical Snowcone. Future plans include acquiring another lot and inviting more food trucks in the area to join. The concept has enjoyed a quick following and is sure to grow.

Rooted - Lester's Plant Market

Lester’s Plant Market is now open on Hwy 11, three miles west of downtown Winnsboro.  The owner, Elliott Lester enjoys working with his family to operate the business.  The nursery is laid out beautifully, with wide aisles and a large variety of plants.  Select from annuals, perennials, shrubs, rose bushes, grasses, succulents, hanging baskets and more.  They also have bulk dirt and bags of top soil, landscape mix and mulch.  Enjoy their wide selection, knowledge and friendly customer service.

Heather and Jim McConnel are living their passion with a small veteran owned Regenerative Ranch, just a few miles from downtown Winnsboro.  They moved here from West Texas in 2021 to the lush, green Piney Woods region to better fit the type of farming they would embark on. Whatever they do is in the most beneficial way possible. They rotationally graze the cattle and sheep with daily moves to fresh grass, supplementing with high quality hay and alfalfa in winter, as well as free choice minerals for the healthiest cattle and to benefit the soil.  Continue to article
