Once in a Lifetime Solar Eclipse Coming to Winnsboro

On October 14th, 2023 Winnsboro will be in the path of the Annular Solar Eclipse. Then on April 8th, 2024 Winnsboro will be in the path of a Total Solar Eclipse.
We will bear witness on April 8th to one of nature’s greatest shows as a total solar eclipse will cross our area. A mere 25 miles from center of the shadow’s path, we will be treated to over four minutes of twilight darkness. The partial phase of the eclipse will start at approximately 12:25pm with the totality phase beginning at 1:44pm and lasting 4 minutes. Except during totality, all are strongly advised to use viewing protection as even the smallest amount of sunlight can cause eye damage.

Winnsboro Hockey
Justin Duplantis has brought a wonderful children’s program to Winnsboro where they can learn and compete in pond hockey where the kids use roller blades instead of skates to participate. Pond hockey does not have a goalie, so scores are achieved by hitting the puck into a small net about six inches by six inches.
