A Bit of History Uncovered
The building was originally a bank many years ago. Although Bonnie and Clyde visited Winnsboro on a number of occassions they never robbed any of the banks in Winnsboro.
Years ago the vault was painted and the name was hidden from view for ages. The Zimmer’s painstakingly cleaned the dear old safe and discovered the name, Merchants & Planters State Bank and a bit of Winnsboro history uncovered.
